En 1995, une carte des biocénoses marines avait été réalisée par le laboratoire de biologie animale de PàP. Cet inventaire avait été réalisé à partir de l'analyse de donnée SPOT 4 de 1994. La mise à jour de cet inventaire sur méthode comparable à celle de 1995, à été réalisée par le traitement d'images rectifiées (carte 1995, SPOT 4 2004, photoaériennes 2000), l'image SPOT 4 de 2004 ayant servi de référentiel géographique.
